ESG
Towards Sustainable Banking
The financial sector has been identified by the EU as an important player in the sustainable transition – among other things by including sustainability in advising customers and offering more green products. ESG is therefore high on the agenda, both at SDC and at SDC banks.
We have named our ESG ambition Towards Sustainable Banking. One of the important areas is the establishment of a solid ESG data foundation, which enables banks to help private and business customers make more sustainable choices that contribute positively to the green transition of our society.
ESG in SDC
The ESG Center of Excellence assists the organization in developing "ESG by Design" across internal workflows.
SDC follows ESG Best Practices within IT and banking. And as a provider of critical financial infrastructure in the Nordics, we are aware of our corporate social responsibility.
UN Global Compact and UN Sustainable Development Goals
SDC is participant of the UN Global Compact Initiative and supports the United Nation’s Ten Principles in the areas of environment and climate, human rights and labour standards and anti-corruption as well as the United Nation’s Global Sustainable Development Goals. SDC is actively working – not listed in the order of priority – on SDG 5 (Gender equality) and SDG 8 (Decent work and economic growth). As a Danish company, SDC has further influence on UN SDG 10.5 (Regulation of financial institutions) and as an IT provider on UN SDG 11 (Sustainable cities and communities).
